Having paid 1,500 “Tonic Cash” claims since launch, Tonic is already helping to ease the financial burden of medical care for Grameenphone subscribers – and generating proof points for the value and trustworthiness of health insurance in the process.

Designed to help cover lost wages, medication costs, or other expenses resulting from a serious medical incident, Tonic Cash pays BDT 1,000 to a member’s mobile wallet in the event of a hospitalisation of three nights or more.

The size of its member base means that Telenor Health is now the largest private sector provider of health insurance in Bangladesh, with partner Pragati Life.
